Novice Day
The novice day was a success, 7 boats enjoyed a good days sailing
including a few short races. The weather was just right - warm and a
gentle force 3. My thanks to the Race Officer the patrol boat driver
and crew and to the 'expert' sailors who turned up to help the
novices.

Cruiser Captain
Regrettably, Felicity McKenna is stepping down as Cruiser Captain at
the end of this season for personal reasons. On behalf of the Sailing
Committee, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Felicity for
all the hard work she has put in during the last year. I would also like
to ask all you cruiser owners out there to seriously consider whether
you would like to stand to Cruiser Captain; if you would like to discuss
what is involved, please talk to either Felicity or Richard.

Tudor Regatta
We had a very successful regatta this year although it was held
earlier than usual. We had visitors from Locks, Langstone and Abbey clubs and
Tudor dinghy sailors managed to acquit themselves well winning the fast,
medium and Wayfarer classes.
You might like to note in your diaries that the 2003 Tudor Regatta will be held on the weekend of
12/13th July 2003.

Hamble cruise
We had a cruise to the River Hamble on the 29th and 30th June. With
9 boats sailing in light winds to start with, but gusting to a force 6
sailing up Southampton Water which was quite exciting. We all berthed at
Swanwick Marina and went ashore for a meal in company.

Dinghy Cruise report
The Round Hayling Dinghy Cruise (June 8th) went very well.
Ten sailing dinghies, and of course the patrol boat, left Tudor at about
1000hrs, heading across to Langstone bridge. The Wayfarers dropped their
masts and went under the bridge, while the rest went over the road on
trailers kindly supplied by Langstone Sailing Club. Then
straight down Chichester Harbour to Hayling Island Sailing Club where we
had lunch. We left HISC with the last bit of ebb tide heading along
Hayling seafront into Langstone and home to Tudor at about 1630hrs. A
good day was had by all.
