Rhine Cruise & Christmas Market
Two years ago the club ran a coach trip to Germany where we boarded
the Lady Anne on the river Rhine for a long weekend in late
November. We sailed up the river visiting towns on route finishing at
Cologne for the Christmas markets. It was very enjoyable, full board,
good cabins and a bar on board. Some people have asked if we can run
the trip again so do you fancy coming along?
We hope to go on 26th to 29th November and the cost should from
£169 per person based on 2 sharing. We will need a £50
deposit per person with the balance paid 8 to 10 weeks before we
depart.
So if you are interested please let me know asap to enable me to
gauge the level of interest.

New Official Club Site
Four and a half months after deciding to taking on over the official
Tudor SC website the new site is available. A previous news item
referencing the December 2003 Sailing Committee minutes stated that
the address would be http://www.tudorsailingclub.org/
which was registered for the club at the end of October 2003. It
appears from both the Exec and Sailing Committee minutes for January
2004 that this domain has been abandoned and the site is now at http://www.tudorsailing.org.uk/.
The webmaster of this site will take the format, choice of forums and
gallery software as a compliment! The original http://www.tudorsc.co.uk/ address
is still pointing to this site and is the third domain that has been
purchased by the club for the website. From the Exec minutes of the
January meeting the target was to have the site ready before the end
of January. Although this date appears to have slipped a couple of
weeks, and there are a few sections that need content, the site is now
accesssible.

Race Results
Since this is no longer the official club site the race results are
no longer supplied direct from the Sailing Committee. Having checked
the club today none of the first three Icicle series results have been
posted on the notice board either. If anyone who has them would like
to let me have a copy I will make them available here. Although the
official website appears to have gone live today (see other news)
there are no new results available there yet either.

RYA Club Race Officer Course
We would like to run an RYA Club Race Officer Course on Saturday
13th March 2004. The course would start at 10am, have a 45 minute break
for lunch, and finish at about 4pm. It would be run by an RYA trainer,
and would cost £15 per person. We need a minimum of 10 people to
run the course. No experience is needed and it is highly recommended
for any members who are new Race Officers this year. There is no exam
and you get an RYA certificate at the end of the course.
If you are interested, please let me know as soon as possible, so we
can confirm the date; email sailingsec@tudorsc.co.uk

No longer the Official site
At a meeting on the 20th October the Executive Committee decided to
take over both management and costs of the official club site. This
site will now revert to its original calling as a combination of
personal site and an award winning reference site for Aptanet.
From reading the Sailing Committee minutes of 9th December 2003 it
appears that a new domain name was registered back on the 25th October,
so I assume the new site will be found at http://www.tudorsailingclub.org/
when it is ready. The current site has a new address, but will continue to
support the original http://www.tudorsc.co.uk/ until
the new webmaster redirects it. I have donated the original one to the
club to avoid confusion, although I have no idea whether they intend to
use it given the newly registered one.
